Takeaways from Prabal Gurung for Target.

THIS is how I do designer shopping.

Sunday, Feb. 10

7:00 a.m.: Wake up.

7:45 a.m.: Pull in to Target parking lot

8:00 a.m.: FIRST one through the doors

8:20 a.m.:  After snatching up my size in every item of the collection, I’m on to the fitting rooms.  (I can tell the attendant hates me, I have about 21 things in my cart)

8:40 a.m.: My amazing boyfriend holds my coffee while I try on each shoe in the collection

8:50 a.m.: Call my mama—who is also currently shopping the collection at a Target in Orlando—to make sure we both got all the pieces we wanted.  We often divide and conquer in situations like this.

The Prabal Gurung collection for Target sold out almost completely in one day—like I imagined it would.  I learned my lesson with the Missoni collection in 2011 that crashed Target’s website.  So, I took necessary precautions to ensure I’d get first pickins.

The Prabal Gurung “Love” collection was bright, colorful and feminine; flipping through the pieces got me so excited for spring!  The collection’s full of gorgeous details, but the most appealing detail–the price tag.  I love that Target brings such fabulous designers and their creations to us “regular people” at realistic prices.

Here are the pieces that managed to make their way into my closet:

_MG_4639Sweatshirt in “First Date” print — $29.99

_MG_4621Short sleeve dress in “Calypso” print — $39.99

_MG_4712Tee-shirt with sheer shoulders — $19.99

_MG_4749Lace-up pumps in black — $39.99

_MG_4736Peplum tin “Floral Crush” Print — $29.99

Many thanks to Aren Bane with a.bane film & digital for taking photos, and for waking up so damn early to accompany me whilst I shop this glorious collection.  Check out his talent at ArenBane.com.

  1. Hi there! Loving your blog, my name is Katie Elliott I am the creator of Tag a Trend.co.uk (www.tagatrend.co.uk) The website works like this: each week I announce a new fashion trend, and people then tag themselves on Facebook wearing that trend. This is done by tagging their picture with the Tag a Trend Facebook page. The other option is to directly add your pics to the facebook wall at http://www.facebook.com/TagATrend or to email pics to kte20@hotmail.com. The best pics then appear on my site.
Next week’s trend (as of Monday) is ‘floral print’ and as I can see you are loving the trend, I thought you might be interested in getting involved and tagging yourself in this fab print.

(If so please email picture rather than adding to Facebook wall to avoid a mix up with this week’s Spots and Stripes trend!)

The picture will appear on both my site and Facebook (both with a direct link back to your blog.)

Look forward to hearing from you!

    Katie

    • Thanks for reaching out, Katie! I love the idea behind your blog! I’d be more than happy to send over my floral print photo. I’m so glad you reached out. I look forward to seeing the array of fun florals next week.
